deep unto deep

"I speak to you from the deepest heaven. You hear Me in the depth of your being. Deep calls unto deep. You are blessed to hear Me so directly. Never take this privilege for granted. The best response is a heart overflowing with gratitude... a thankful mind set."
from Jesus Calling.

Psalm 42:7 Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all Your waves and
breakers have swept over me.

Psalm 95:1-2 Come let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.

Matthew 7:24-25 (**Jesus was preaching the sermon on the mount. He finished with these words.) Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who builds his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

I love the pictures that are painted in these scripture:
God:
as a waterfall, a river

Jesus:
the Rock of our salvation
the foundation of our house

Us:
stones in His river (implied)
worshippers shouting aloud, singing
building a house on the Rock of Jesus

life:
a riverbed (implied)
rain coming down
streams rising
wind blowing

And what is our response to be:
to listen, to sing for joy, to shout a loud to Jesus,
come before God with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.

These verses reminded me of Nicole Nordeman's song River God.
This is the address to her song on utube:
