I Cor 6:9 Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own.

If we have accepted Christ as our Savior, the Holy Spirit has come to live in us. Just like the temple in the Old Testament, God has come to dwell in us. The temple was made of precious materials and constructed precisely as God had commanded. We too are made according to His plan. Through out history the temple has been used to honor God, but also at times has been profaned and used to honor man.
