seek God

*** still catching up... September 1 devotion in Jesus Calling

"Seek Me with your whole being. I desire to be found by you, and I orchestrate the events of your life with that purpose in mind. When things go well and you are blessed, you can feel Me smiling on you. When you encounter rough patches along your life-journey, trust that My Light is still shining upon you. My reasons for allowing these adversities may be shrouded in mystery, but My continual Presence with you is an absolute promise. Seek Me in good times; seek Me in hard times. You will find Me watching over you all the time.

Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find Him, if you look for Him with all your heart and all your soul.

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast unswervingly to the hope (belief) we profess , for He who promised is faithful.

Psalm 145:20 The LORD watches over all who love Him...

***When I seek Jesus, He is not hiding or far away, He is right here with Me.
I just have to become aware of His presence.

growing strong in my weaknes

Because I was driving home from Omaha, I didn't get August 31's devotion blogged. Here it is:

"Growing strong in your weakness... your fragility is not a punishment, nor does it indicate a lack of faith... I am developing your ability to trust Me and lean on Me, rather than your understanding...This is how you grow strong in your weakness." Jesus Calling

Isaiah 40:31 Do you not know, have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the LORD, will renew their strength. The will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, walk and not faint.

**Even though my time with Robin and Boh was really good, I do feel tired. I am so glad to know that God doesn't grow tired or weary--not only that, but when I put my trust in Him He renews my strength.

travel day

It is 12:03 AM. I officially lost a day of blogging, but I have a good excuse. I had a long day of travel. I left Omaha at 8:45AM and arrived at home at 10:15PM. I "lost" and hour coming back to EST...hate that! I also spent about 45 minutes antique shopping. It's amazing how much money I can spend in such a short time. I bought 3 ball jars, a blue bowl, a blue apron, a black wooden box, 2 blue handkerchiefs, and a set of blue salt and pepper shakers. That's called antique power shopping. I also stopped at my sister Pat's house on the way home. I spent about a half hour catching up on their news. Plus there was this 20 minute stand still on the highway. So... I didn't get my devotional read today, but I'll try to catch up tomorrow. Also try to show a picture of all my treasures I found. I had a really good week at Robin and Boh's house. I think I helped out some and Robin is really doing very well after her surgery. I hated to leave this morning. She probably could have used a second week of help, but it was time for me to head back. I am glad to be home and plan to sleep in tomorrow... and then go pick up Cocoa!
